RCRG PhD Student Katie Epstein received an Institute on Ecosystems Fellowship to pursue her research on how population growth and land use changes in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem impact elk ecology, wildlife management, environmental conflict and private land conservation.

Dr. Haggerty is part of an interdisciplinary research team that received a $6 million NSF grant to research whether biofuels and carbon capture technologies can be sustainably introduced into the Upper Missouri River Basin.

As part of Dr. Haggerty's USDA-funded grant "Escaping the Resource Curse," the research team will be conducting mail surveys in the Marcellus shale play in Pennsylvania, the Bakken oil field in North Dakota and Montana, and the Powder River Basin in Wyoming.
